Michelle and Gijs – A Meteora Prewedding

The first time I met Michelle to discuss about her wedding details I’d never have guessed that behind her simple looks and personality lies and adventurous spirit. It is exactly that adventurous spirit that allowed her to go backpacking to Cambodia, there she met up with another group of backpackers and decided to join in on their itinerary. On that same trip, Gijs arrived and joined the group as well. The group decided to journey on motorbike the next day, to which they should go in pairs, and Gijs was paired with Michelle. Whatever conversations that transpired that day must have made a connection between these two, so much so that Gijs made major changes to his future schedule to follow Michelle back to Singapore to spend more time with her. The rest is, as we say, history.

It all sounds too serendipitous for me though, especially those kinds that involve sudden changes in life plans, but when I saw Gijs and Michelle during their prenup,
I can’t help but fall in love with their candor. Their little unscripted gestures and warm pseudo-synchronized laughter melt my heart while I see them through the lens.
