    BACKLIT BANANAS

I was staring at these bananas while taking some photos in the marketplace, and I was thinking to myself: “Wow, they look soooo nice….”. Photographer brain quickly kicked in and reminded me that it is because of the morning light hitting it at the right angle. The more I looked at it, the more I thought about how the right light brings out the colors, shape, and texture of something. It generally elevates an image! Did I mention RIGHT LIGHT? MORNING GROOVE

I had an out of Manila shoot a few weeks ago, but it was sched on my coding day because that was the only day available. So I thought, why not get there really early, and nap while I wait for my client. I got there early all right, but my body didn’t want to nap anymore. HEAVY DOWNPOUR

What a wet way to end the day. I truly hope you all got home safe and dry. Truly, an umbrella or a raincoat is a must have when you go out these days. What do you think about when it rains like this? I remember this concept that is presented in the Bible: “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:44-45 #blackandwhite #BGC #NikonPH# streetphotography #dailyphotography

Wattah Wattah – A San Juan Festival

Then this picture… I woke up late on the morning of June 24 and saw a photo message from John Ong with the message that said: “Go Derrick, this is how my windshield looks! Then I realized “Oh it’s today!”, I always wanted to shoot this festival but I always had wedding shoots whenever this happens. Today however is a…
