Engco and Jully Renewal of Vows – An Intimate Celebration

How are you? I sincerely hope you are coping well with what’s going on in this world. Personally I am trying to keep productive and work on as much things as I can, it keeps me distracted from all the news that will just cause me to worry. One thing I’ve been able to do much lately is to think, and I’ve been pondering about how the industry I’m in will recover from this crisis, and how it will be different from the way it was before.  Surely it will be a while before we see huge gatherings again, but I believe that somehow, somewhere, celebrations will still happen. Small…

Gijs and Michelle – Encounter with Destiny

It’s like traveling to different sides of the world when I go from Michelle’s room to Gij’s. But the energy and the reason for laughter is the same. Love ones and family make the day with their presence in their beautiful dresses and suits. But the best thing about it is they all have their smiles ready for the union of two that met in a chance encounter years ago, and decided to never let go, it’s the kind of love story that we all dream about. Davy and Valerie – Love that Moves

It’s a love story that sends the warmest fuzzies down my spine. Two friends whom we thought would make a good match actually became a good match, good is an understatement, great would be the right term. But while we made the match, it is them who made it work. Davy persistently asked for that first meet, and told Valerie he would only want 15 minutes of her time, it was all the time he needed to make that connection. After that Val had to go back to HK where she lived, to which Davy booked 3 round trip tickets to Hong Kong on the spot and that impressed her.…

Steve and Monica – St Peter the Apostle Parish

It has been quite a while since I did a wedding in St. Peter’s in Paco, it’s a nicely designed church except for some power lines so close to the facade. One design I love though is the huge wooden main doors, it just begs to be photographed. I always look forward to capturing the moments scattered throughout the day, they’re the ones that make each wedding day unique, I especially loved the tender and funny ones from the kids, they always seem to add flavor to any “serious” event. One kid was mimicking one of the videographers of the event. Lastly, my heart skipped a beat when I know…

Ronald and Jennifer – Mater Dolorosa Parish

Sometimes I get to shoot as second camera for a wedding, when a couple books a photographer in our team, the backup is assigned by the studio among whoever is available in the team. And at these times, my shots are complimentary of the main, and focused on the groom. I wasn’t planning on posting this set though, but when I browsed this folder while archiving my files I thought: “Hey, this was a pretty fun wedding, why not share some shots?”. I remember the fun personality of Ronald and his best man, I remember how we almost got lost trying to find the church, and how most of their…

The Joy of Selecting Your Bridesmaids

Have you ever attended a wedding and wondered why there had to be bridesmaids (and groomsmen)? It got my curiosity thinking a while back and I did a quick search on the traditions (and some superstitions) that involves the choosing of your entourage. It wasn’t mind blowing when I looked it up so I simply put it at the back of my head. But recently as I was shooting a wedding, I noticed that the bridesmaids were very helpful, always cheerful, and kept the bride happy from start to finish. And then I recalled the other weddings that I’ve shot wherein the brides were always relaxed, happy, or full of…

Hay Tita – Funny Wedding Moments

Weddings are filled with moments, the crying, the hugging, the laughing, I’m pretty much used to seeing and feeling the emotions in events like these. But then there is this tita, who comes up while the couple is doing their funky first dance and inserts a packet of money in… well, I let the picture tell the story. 🙂
