    OILING THE GEARS

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a predebut photoshoot. Mainly because I haven’t been marketing myself for it lately. It came to a point where I wonder to myself if I’m still able to do it well. But I have a friend whom I owed a photoshoot for, and what she asked was for me to do a pictorial for her niece. I really couldn’t say no. Arriving at the venue, I try to shake off thoughts that tell me that I’m rusty at this kind of shoots. Instead, I try to remember the teachings I learned before, and compile them in my head as I prepare my…

    The Gift of Platinum

In these days when the world doesn’t take marriages seriously, it is not surprising to hear of divorce, infidelity, and couples who simply give up on their promise for each other. Whether you believe in the sanctity of marriage or not, seeing someone you know to have their marriage break down is truly sad. But in spite all of this, there are rare, yes, truly rare stories of those that last! 25 Years? Not bad. 50 Years? That’s pretty good, but how about 70 years? Yes you read it right 70 years! You might look at your partner and ask your self: “Will we be able to make it 70…

Michael and Edelyn – A Promise to You

I don’t know what the statistics are but I find it quite rare for those civilly married for a number of years to still push through with a church wedding. But for Michael and Edelyn, they made a promise to each other that they will one day have their walk down the aisle, make their promise again to each other, this time in the house of God. But they’re not just gonna have that, what a way to get excited for the wedding but to have a prenup as well, which is what they did! Along with their wonderful kids they come in full force for a day of fun…

It’s A Good Day to be Beautiful – Caryll Predebut

Just turned 18, Caryll is such a confident lady that’s ready to take on the world. But then as I take a more in depth look, and I see a set of parents who patiently and lovingly taught her well. However, you don’t need to wait till you’re 18 to start to glo up as a person. When you know that there is a God above you, watching over you, taking care of you, knows you inside out and even so, loves you, everyday is a good day to be beautiful. Let no one tell you otherwise. Charles and Ilene – Only for You

Sometimes you have to make the decision to hold on to destiny, even if it will bring you through difficult seasons, that is how you know for yourself what love is. This I see in the eyes of Charles and Ilene as their eyes meet at the wedding aisle, and in the smiles and happy tears of their loved ones around them. This is a wedding that has been a delight to capture, one that overflows with happiness and teaches you to fall in love all over again. Eye on the Streets – Hong Kong

There’s always this lingering decision I have to make whenever I travel. On one hand I’d like to enjoy the place and absorb as much with just my eyes (and stomach) and enjoy the people who I’m traveling with, on the other I’d really love to explore and observe the place with my camera on hand. But as early as arriving in the airport, something tells me it’s going to be a “camera on hand” trip, Hong Kong is a place meant to be photographed. The city vibrates with energy that comes at you in every direction. Everyone and everything seems to be moving, in a hurry. I take note…

    The Manansala Family

A quick family shoot in the simple home of the Manansala family, where everyone was so fun and in tuned with each other that they were so natural in front of the camera. You can basically tell who is the who of the family just by looking at the pics. While we only had a few minutes for the shoot, it was fun squeezing two quick sets before everyone is off to their daily routines. P.S. In this quick shoot I learned that there is such a thing as a football hold for fathers.

JR and Cristina – Love in the Secret Place

It is in love that you find such a place not bound by geography. Where anywhere is special as long as you are “With” each other. It is the comforting thought that no matter where you go, you know that at the end of the day, you can always run into the arms of your love and there you will always find rest. Camera on Hand – Baguio, A Home for the Heart

Baguio has always been an escape for me, a place where I can forget about the seriousness of life and take things slow… really slow. What I enjoy most of the time is how I become more conscious of each moment during the days I spend there. Here are snapshots of a 2 day trip with my wife and a friend, either when were together or in times when I walk alone… I was surprised that the place were staying in is right beside Cafe by the Ruins, a huge serving of Champorado and Tuyo in this cool weather makes for a good first meal in this recent trip. We’ve…

    A Good Hair Day

Cosplay gatherings is always interesting for me, when I’m available I make it a point to drop by to take portraits. Recently I went to one and for the first time noticed how hairstyles play such a basic role in the aspect of cosplay (face palm), so for a good whole afternoon, I was fascinated at impressive hairdos and wigs. I feel like a creep sneaking up behind some of the cosplayers and taking pics of their hair. Most of the cosplayers I see have wigs for their hairstyles, which can be bought online in varying prices because of their quality and color. Of course, there are other aspects that…
